1. Camera Upgrade With New 200MP Main Sensor
OnePlus 16 is set to get a major camera update this year, moving to a new 200MP rear camera with an f/1.6 aperture.
The other sensors will remain the same as the OnePlus 15 flagships, featuring a 50MP ultrawide sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, a 50MP telephoto sensor with an f/2.6 aperture, and a 32MP selfie shooter.
We will also see camera app upgrades with ColorOS 17, including optimizations based on Oppo’s build and algorithms.
2. Processor Upgrade with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6
OnePlus 16 will get a major processor upgrade this year with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, launched in September 2026.
It delivers solid benchmark scores, including 5,195,978 on AnTuTu 11. Geekbench 6 reports 4,327 points for single-core performance, 12,873 for multi-core, and 35,781 for the Computer GPU score.
The OnePlus 15’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 scores 3,950,082 points on AnTuTu 11, while Geekbench 6 reports 3,639 for single-core and 11,047 for multi-core performance.
On paper, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor takes a huge leap over last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
